Shotblasting is a great way of preparing a surface for the process of electroless nickel plating, and NiTEC have the capacity to shotblast components of up to 20 tonnes in weight.
The quality of the electroless nickel plating is dependent on thorough surface preparation, and shot blasting is the perfect way to achieve this.
In addition to NiTEC’s chemical cleaning and activation processes, aluminium oxide 180-220 grit is used to ensure a high standard of surface finish is achieved through heat treatment.
The shot blast booth at NiTEC, used for shotblasting and heat treatment, has a capacity of 216m3 and is made from stainless steel which minimises the particles that settle on the work.
In order to get the best possible results in the diffused nickel plating process, the surface of the chosen object needs to be as clean and polished as possible, which is where shotblasting comes in.
With some of the strongest lifting capabilities in the UK, we can prepare a great range of pieces for plating.
